Gasping For Air & Missing It

It’s been a slow week around here due to a busy life. Sound familiar? You’re nodding yes…I know it.

Someone once talked to me about slowing down and pressing pause. Says it came from some book. Something about being still and knowing God is God.

Who knows? Perhaps I should be reading this book. It just might help me catch my breath.

What do you think?

Death By Twitter

Those of you on Twitter will appreciate this rockumentary from the David Crowder Band. It’s a riot! If you’re not on Twitter, fly away now, as you’ll only be scratching your head. Let’s not puzzle your puzzler more than necessary. After all, it’s the weekend.

Note. You’ll never fully “get” Twitter until you take the plunge. Come on…everybody’s doing it. And I don’t want to hear any bridge jumping analogies, which you’ve likely committed to memory thanks to your parents. Despite what you may think…Twitter is not suicide.

So, look me up on Twitter here. Have a great weekend! Tweet twit away.

The Christmas Linebacker

Loving God. Loving People. Loving Life. The motto of Harvest Chapel (located in Sandwich, IL). Wes Bell kicked off the message with the following video. Not sure where he got it from. But, it’s a goodie. Check out Harvest Chapel if you’re finding, looking, seeking, and so on. Friends will be made and these friends will become family! Enjoy.

Wars With Gas Stations = Laughter

Psalm 2:4 reads, “He who sits in the heavens laughs.” That’s pretty cool. Do you ever really think of God laughing? And, if so, laughing at what? Well…let’s look at my morning.

Heading to the gas station this morning and loving $1.59 per gallon. Even with a collapsing economy…I feel victorious at the pump. Reaching for my wallet. Wait a second. Where’s my wallet…which was followed by the five pocket shuffle. Bummer. Heading home.

Ok…I’m back with my wallet. Wait. My “gas door” is frozen shut. This is a joke…right? Beating and pounding my door with my fist. People starting to look at me…probably wondering why I’m beating and pounding my poor little car. My car wins and I walk back to the driver’s seat with as much dignity one can muster.

Sitting in my driveway with screwdriver in hand. Wife holding up lever and me prying away. Finally…it opens. I think I’ll leave it as such while driving back…for safe measure. It’s just one of those mornings.

This morning was not the first as I’ve fallen victim to the gas station before.

Drove off one time with the hose still in my tank. Oops!

Hose popped out once and did not shut off. Kind of like wrestling a wild snake. Needless to say…my cloths were soaked with gasoline as I quickly and quietly looked around wondering who witnessed my folly. The worst part…I had to go in and pay…one swishy gasoline soaked step at a time.

I’ve contributed my share of material for “He who sits in the heavens…” I’ve often thought God watches the greatest reality show of all time. Our lives.

They say kids laugh 200 to 400 times per day. This number supposedly shrinks to 15 by the age of 35. Perhaps it’s time to take some pointers from kids. Let’s start with a good one from Reverend Fun.
